Sara Madalin's Fan Club

Sara Madalin got to go to church for the second time today. Actually, it was her first full service since we only came at the end of service two weeks ago when we first adopted her. We only went to the main service. We are working up to Sunday School. She'll probably to to Sunday School class with one of us and not to the nursery for a while. Her pediatrician says she doesn't need to be around a lot of small children until she's had her shots. The nursery ladies are not that happy about that. They wanted to keep her today.

We sat in the balcony. It didn't take long for my Sunday School class girls to see us up there. Several of them ran up to see us and I had Reagan take our picture with them. This is such a sweet picture. I can't wait until she's old enough to interact with these girls. They have been my special girls for so long - Anna since she was born almost 8 years ago, the others since they've been in my class. Now Sara Madalin is a part of not only our life, but their lives too.  In the picture below is Shawna Gandenberger, Anna Paige Verdecchia, Tori Jones, me, Sara Madalin, and Carina Foote.  Future babysitters??? We'll see.

Jenn also got to see her for the first time this morning. She and her mother, Mrs. Libby, were very instrumental in us being put in contact with Sara Madalin's birthmother. (I guess there are a few good people that come out of Simpson county.) Jenn and Mrs. Libby have prayed for us and Sara Madalin throughout the past several months.  We are so thankful for all they've done. We have a special baby book for Sara Madalin. It's an adoption-specific baby book. In it there is a place to put pictures of the people who helped us "find" her. We have a spot for Wayne and Susie and I will now add Jenn to the page.

We also made it church tonight. She was asleep when we first got there. Reagan said he wished he could relax this well. I'm told that in a few weeks her ability and willingness to sleep will change. Everybody asked how she sleeps. I hate to admit that she sleeps really well I think. She goes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours between feedings during the day and then 3 to 4 hours between at night.  She'd sleep longer if she could eat more. Seriously, the only reason she wakes up in the night is to eat. And then she doesn't really ever wake up. She just kind of whines to let me know she's ready for a bottle. After she eats I change her, put her back in her Miracle Blanket and within 5 minutes she's out. Me-Me Sue Sue says in about 3 or 4 weeks, all that will change. But for now, isn't she just so sweet in the picture below?
