Sleeping Arrangements

While we were in Memphis, Sara Madalin got to stay in a hotel room for the first time since last October when we went to Disney. She LOVED being able to run around in the room there and play on the bed. We knew, since she's grown so much even since then, she would love it more this time. We were right. She was up past 10:00 p.m. running around last Wednesday night. And she usually goes to bed no later than 8:00. We weren't sure where all that energy came from, but she was wired.

As we have every time we've stayed in a hotel with her, we requested a pack and play for her to sleep in. We learned three things about that this time around...

A) Don't put ANYTHING in the bed with her that can be used to climb on - in this case her new bumblebee from Nana.

B) She's smarter than we give her credit.

C) I need to find a gymnastics class for her because she has NO FEAR!

Needless to say, we didn't leave her in the pack and play to fall asleep. She just kept trying to climb out. So, we put her in the bed with us until she went to sleep. And this is how she fell asleep.

She had one arm under my neck and the other around the top of my neck. I tried several times to move to another position and she wasn't having it. I thought it was so sweet that she wanted to give me love while she went to sleep. After I woke Reagan up to take this picture, I put her back in the pack and play to sleep the rest of the night. After this trip, we can tell that we are going to have to come up with some creative ways for sleeping arrangements in the future.

That is so sweet how she was snuggled with you.

And the adventuresome kids find a way out of anything attempting to hold them in...you have to watch out for her!

Love that last picture!! Too sweet! Alise never would sleep in a pack-n-play when we traveled and stayed in hotels, either. We just always have to get double beds: the girls in one and the hubs in the other.
