Sunday evening we met our friend, Jana, for dinner and then drove to Canton to see the lights. We try to go each year. Jana works for the tourism office and heads up the light festival. We enjoy going to see what she's done each year. It's also been fun to see how Sara Madalin has changed each year. For a look back at past visits, click HERE for 2008, we missed 2009, and but you can click HERE for 2010.
Here are my people as we arrived last Sunday night. It was pretty cold, and already SM's bedtime. So, we didn't stay too long, but enjoyed ourselves as much as we could, as quickly as we could.
We went into the lobby of the hotel that serves as the Tourism office. There was a display set up in the lobby with Santa and his list. Sara Madalin looked for her name, but there was no "Sara" on there.
I got a quick picture of her in front of the tree before heading outside to let her ride a few rides.
Here she is with Jana right before riding.
They rode the train and the merry-go-round. We all rode the horse and carriage together.
Here she is on the carousel. She was so tired, but she wanted to ride it all.
As I said, we rode a few things. Then we went into one of the animation museums before heading home. It was so fun to see Jana and look at all the lights. She and the crew in Canton put so much work into making this event enjoyable for so many that visit each year. I'm glad we got to see her and that SM enjoyed herself so much.
