Sara Madalin had a soccer game Tuesday evening. Reagan took off work early and went with us. It was the first time Sara Madalin actually got to wear her jersey because it was on back order for the first game, then we've not made it to the last several games and practices. When we got to the field, she asked her Daddy what her number was. He told her, "33 Three-three." She said, "Watch for my number when I go out there so you can see me." I guess she thought we'd lose her in the sea of THREE white shirts on the U4 field if we didn't look for her number.
Before the game, Reagan worked with her on kicking the ball TOWARD her goal, rather than the other team's goal. The only problem with that was when the game started, the goal they had been practicing on was the other team's goal.
Her buddy Landry showed up to practice with her before the game. They are funny together. In this next picture they were examining each other's undershirt.
Some action shots.
A little pep talk from Coach Wes. This man has so much patience.
Lining up at the end of the game.
The parents made a tunnel for the girls to run through. They loved it.
The game was interesting, to say the least. SM tackled one of the girls on the opposing team. I'm talking bear-hug, dragged to the ground tackle. Also, every time she saw anyone coming up trying to get the ball, she'd fall down on it to stop play. Luckily everyone just thought it was funny.
Sara Madalin has speed and is great at driving the ball, only she doesn't understand that she is supposed to drive toward her goal. She gets to kicking and takes off in front of everyone, but she goes off into another field. If she could learn discipline and the rules, she'd be really great. I'm trying to remind myself, she is almost a year younger than some of the girls on the other team. Hopefully she'll improve this Fall.
