It's been a busy week finishing up this school year. I've been a little sad since these were her last few days of preschool. I just can't believe she's going to be a first grader in a few months.
Tuesday all the Kindergarten classes went to a local park for their end-of-the-year party. It was so cute. They have been using the SuperKids reading program this year. As they learned about and with the SuperKids, they also learned about various countries. So, Tuesday each class decorated a table representing one of the countries, and served food to represent that country as well. Our class's table represented China. We served fried rice with chopsticks and fortune cookies.
At the end of the party SM's class gave their teacher a very special gift. One of the moms had come to school and gotten each child's fingerprints to make a picture for Mrs. Smith. It was so sweet and special.
The kids played for a couple hours. I had planned to take Sara Madalin home after the party, but all the other girls chose to go back to school for lunch and to play for the afternoon. I let her go back too. She was so tired that she fell asleep like this on the way home.
Then, today was pretty big around here. It was my baby's last day of preschool. Here she is on her first day of K3, K4, and kindergarten. The last picture at the bottom is of her today on her very last day of preschool.
I took her to school this morning for a little while. When I went to pick her up we took a few pictures with some very special people. Here she is with her Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Smith.
This is her with Miss Johnson, the class assistant. She has been so good and loving to my baby these past couple years.
And this lady is the most fun preschool teacher you will ever meet. Her name is Mrs. Revere but all the kids (and their parents) call her Mrs. Rootbeer. She is the preschool music teacher. She is so loved by all the children ar SM's school.
This is Mr. Powers. He is the STEM teacher. He has been one of SM's favorite teachers this year because they get to do "experiments" when they go see him. She'll get to visit with him more in the next couple years.
And this is Mrs. Burford. She's the after school director. She's also the one who calls me when SM is either hurt or in trouble for hurting someone else. She and I spoke on the phone quite a bit during SM's K4 year. Not as much this year, thank heavens.
Today was also pretty special because it's our baby's 6th birthday. I did a lot of reminiscing about that morning when God gave us the desires if our heart.
I'll never get over what God did that day.
And here we are, ready for Summer. This girl has got some big plans for playing and swimming. I hope I can keep up with her.
